iPad Shipping Delays for Some Pre-Orders

The Associated Press is reporting that iPads pre-ordered after March 27th will be delayed in shipping until April 12th.  No reason is given, but people may still pickup devices in the stores on April 3rd. (Remember that reservations made at a store are held only until 3:00 pm.)

Google Fiber "NeXTStep" Announced

The Google home page for fiber has been updated and the links for nominating your community have been closed.

Google says that it will announce the winning “community or communities” by the end of the year.  They show a map on the page with dots that show where governments submitted entries and where large numbers of citizens [...]

$100,000 matching offer for Google Fiber in Orlando

The Edyth Bush Charitable Foundation, Inc. of Winter Park, Florida has committed up to $100,000 to help community nonprofits fully implement the ultra high speed internet network if Google selects Orlando.

Now Software Closes its Doors

The maker of  the Macintosh Programs “Now Up-To-Date” and “Now Contact” has officially ceased operations as of this month according to its website: http://nowsoftware.com/

Interestingly, the site redirects the browser to a site powered by Google.  Other links I’ve seen lead to NowSoftware.org as well.
