Farewell to Analog: The LAST roll of Kodachrome

The last roll of Kodachrome film ever made has been processed in Parsons, Kansas at the last lab that still processes Kodachrome.

If you have any unprocessed Kodachrome film, you’ll want to get it to Dwayne’s Photo Service before the end of 2010.  After that, even Dwayne’s will no longer process it.

Personally, I have Kodachrome slides shot by family members in 1942 that still look great today.  So this does seem like an end-of-an-era kind of thing.

The story is covered by the Wichita Eagle and might be an article and video special by National Geographic.
