The science-fiction, fantasy, anime, and comics convention “MegaCon” will be in town March 12 to 14, 2010.
It even has something for car enthusiasts. For fans of the old “Speed Racer” show, a real Mach-5 will be shown. Also, a car based on the GhostBusters ECTO-1B (video game version) by the Palm Coast Ghostbusters will be there.

Walt Sellers, Gary Ensmenger, Mark Spain, Jim Sander, Phil Robertson, and Jef Walker trade news, tips, tricks, and news about the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad.

Among items discussed:
- reports have been made that Apple has closed the App Store accounts of some developers; possibly for involvement with jail-breaking efforts.
- several local businesses are in efforts to produce new iPhone apps.
- reports of iPod touches interfering with Wi-Fi on other devices.
- Jef showed us a cover for your thumbdrive that makes it look like a thumb.
- Phil demonstrated software to publish ePub files for iPhone readers and the iPhone reader apps.
- Jim showed us SubEthaEdit (http://SubEthaEdit.net) a desktop application for getting many people to work on documents together across the Internet.
- short-term and long-term effects on publishing
- lots of cool new apps were shown off

Chelsie Hall of “Hall Or Nothing Design Studios” (Pictured above beside Mark Spain) revealed several useful tips on using Automator in graphic arts and PDF workflows. Some attendees commented that she had just save them quite a bit of work or that they wish they had heard the presentation two weeks ago.
Walt Sellers talked about the abilities of this new FLMUG website and how it will help us deliver to our members in the future. Walt also showed us the “Book Book” case for MacBook laptops. It does an excellent job of making a MacBook look like a large hardback book or photo album.

Due to problems with our previous venue, we”ve had to change the location of the main meeting.
The main meeting will be at Panera, near the corner of 434 and 436.
The date and time is the same, (2nd Thursday of the month) Frebruary 11, presentations begin at 7:00 pm and end roughly at 9:00 pm. Come earlier to eat, chat, work, network and more. We have the room starting at 6:30 pm.
