If you have any unprocessed Kodachrome film, you’ll want to get it to Dwayne’s Photo Service before the end of 2010. After that, even Dwayne’s will no longer process it.

Personally, I have Kodachrome slides shot by family members in 1942 that still look great today. So this does seem like an end-of-an-era kind of thing.

The story is covered by the Wichita Eagle and might be an article and video special by National Geographic.

March 26, 2010 is the deadline. A huge investment in Orlando’s networks is important in lots of ways that are hard describe. Please go to the website for Orlando’s campaign and mark yourself on the map. And fill in the form on Google’s site for individuals.

Putting your name into the form for individuals is more important than you may think. Google has access to research that shows that community broadband efforts succeed or fail mainly due to the interest of the citizens.

The GetGoogling form will ask how you will use the bandwidth. Here’s some ideas if you need some (and please add more):

Watch the shows, movies and videos I want. Not “channels”.

Get more done.

Make “Progress” about getting work finished, not watching a bar on the monitor.

Help more customers without driving.

Telecommute to the office more often.

Host more virtual meetings.

Give more presentations.

Do more with volunteer groups.

Make better use of services on the internet, like Google Docs, or collaboration services.

Finish an offsite backup in a reasonable amount of time.

Play better games.

Play games better.

Have better contact with friends, relatives and coworkers.

Keep my system and anti-virus software up to date more often.

Spend more time with my family, because I’m finished with work faster.

Drive less.

Send more pictures and videos of the kids to Mom.

Be able to afford better video-monitoring security for my home.
