Great article Charles. Here are a few things that stick out when I think about Steve Jobs:

He wasn't the first entrepreneur who had his company ripped out from under him. But he is the only one I ever saw take it back (and in spectacular fashion.)

His companies made people think "Wow, this CAN be done" more times than almost any other (And still be profitable.)

Amazing numbers of people TRY to copy Steve Jobs.

Nice piece, Chas. A bit wordy but that's you.
Hope Vancouver is all that you hoped it would be. Saw an Antny Bourdain visit to your city not long ago, certainly a beautiful place with some interesting places to eat.
Regards to your sweet little gal.

I’m still in the middle of shock due to Steve Jobs death. He was such a brilliant, admirable person. We lost an asset which can never get back. As a founder of Apple, ihone, ipad he will be appreciated forever. I am praying for his soul.

I always have a hard time reading about the death of Steve Jobs, even a well written piece like this one.

The reason is not because my favorite company lost its leader, but because that loss was so totally, so disgustingly avoidable. We need to stop being a puppet of the allopathic model, which has a sickening success rate, and simply pursue one of the many cures for cancer that have been with us for years, even decades. We also need to acknowledge that generally, cancer does not just "pop out of nowhere." We bring it on ourselves, mostly by eating the crap that is offered as "food" in pro-establishment grocery stores.

This is only a partial list, but here are a few notable cures:

(1) intravenous vitamin C

http://www.marketwatch.com/story/summa-health-system-mayo-clinic-and-ic-medtech-sign-collaborative-research-agreement-2011-09-02

http://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2010/08/23/why-does-medicine-have-to-profit-so-much-and-kill-cancer-victims-prematurely.aspx?SetFocus=commentfocus&ShowAllComments=true#commentfocus

(2) antineoplastons (Stanislaw Burzynski's treatment)

http://www.naturalnews.tv/v.asp?v=F5B32D25BDC2E1977584DF9A1DF9CC0D

(3) the Gerson therapy

http://gerson.org/GersonTherapy/gersontherapy.htm

http://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2011/08/14/beautiful-truth-about-outlawed-cancer-treatment.aspx

(4) the Bio-Medical Center (Hoxsey Clinic)

http://www.cancure.org/hoxsey_clinic.htm

http://www.hoxseycancerdiet.com/Hoxseyinfo.cfm

The above all succeed in healing cancer, though obviously, the closer one is to death, the more time it takes, and/or the more uncertainty of recovery, especially if one has only a few days left to live.

A coworker of mine at the San Jose Mercury News had his wife go to the Bio-Medical Center, in Tijuana, Mexico, on two occasions to be treated for cancer. She was healed both times (breast and ovarian). The center has an 80% success rate.

Do not let <em>anybody</em> tell you there is no cure for cancer, and do not donate <em>any</em> of your hard-earned money to some fake "search for a cure" event or cause. It will just be wasted, because it will be funneled into the allopathic rathole.

Neither our government nor the medical establishment has any interest in actually finding a cure for cancer. And why pretend to look anyway? The cures already exist.

How can an innovator, so skilled at thinking outside the box in one area, be so imprisoned inside that box in another? And how many more ways could Steve Jobs have reshaped the world had he remained at the helm of Apple for another thirty years?

I'll be forever dumbfounded by the first question, and we'll never know the answer to the second.

Brilliant Charles! This leaves me speechless, sad and so grateful in so many ways. I honestly do not know how I could exist without all the amazing gifts that Apple (Steve) has given me personally, multiply that by billions around the globe and honestly - what can one say. We are lucky to have you living in Victoria amongst us to say it for us. G

Observing Apple's history I would say it is roller-coaster. I have seen their ups and downs. I remember when they practically vanish from our site and only action of some antitrust government body did not permit Bill Gates to hammer them. Now the situation has reversed and Apple became a colossus and together with Microsoft and RIM is trying to destroy Google. And after Steve Jobs died the future of Apple takes next twist. We will watch where it will go…
